The Partnerships Sports Medicine Manager is responsible to manage the daily clinical fulfillment of our strategic partnership contracts. These functions encompass clinical, management, administrative, operations/staffing and marketing activities and responsibilities. They serve as manager of the sports medicine and athletic training services, supervising outreach personnel, contract vendors and medical volunteers; as well as developing, coordinating, establishing, building and maintaining strategic relationships with physicians, partners, hospital administration, athletic directors, athletes, and their parents/families. They will provide clinical treatment of athletes and provide regular communication to leadership regarding partner and physician concerns. They are responsible for ROI tracking and reporting. They will actively support the development of new medical models and services as they relate to strategic partnerships.

Serving as the Sports Medicine Outreach Coordinator, assisting in coordinating and managing the Healthy Future Partnership with the Volusia County School District. Team member of the Central Division-North Region Marketing Team. Responsible for developing a sports medicine component to the North Region of Florida Hospital, including coordinating care and services to other sports teams and programs including supporting FH as the Official Healthcare Partner for the Daytona International Speedway.

The primary role of the Regional Coordinator will be to assist states in developing a structure to support third party reimbursement advocacy with employers and insurance companies for the recognition and reimbursement of physical medicine and rehabilitation services delivered autonomously by athletic trainers. This includes the delivery and billing of Athletic Training Evaluation and Re-Evaluation CPT Codes, and subsequent physical medicine and rehabilitation services. Alignment with CMS Policy and processes will be central to our overall effort unless directed differently by the NATA Board of Directors. The Regional Coordinators will also assist in coordinating and standardizing approaches across the states within the respective Districts they are assigned. Best practices identified from the NATA Third Party Reimbursement Pilot that ended on October 1, 2017 will be disseminated to allow for the greatest consistency attainable across Districts and States. The Regional Coordinators will work within a larger team to develop and execute ongoing strategy with payors and employers that advance utilization of athletic trainers as billable providers by employers and advance recognition by the insurance industry.

Erik has been providing athletic training care through the Justin Boots Sports Medicine Program since 1998. In 2005, Erik became one of the JSMT's Program Managers, covering the southeastern circuit. The Athletic Trainers’ Association of Florida, Inc (ATAF) is an organization whose membership is dedicated to the comprehensive health care of our state’s athletes and other physically active individuals. The mission of the ATAF is to offer a diverse range of services to its members, while protecting the public’s interest by seeing that certified, licensed athletic trainer’s are available to provide proper medical care to our state’s athletes and the physically active.I have the honor and privilege to lead ATAF as their President. ATAF represents athletic trainers throughout the state of Florida work in a variety of settings such as: high schools, universities, professional sports, occupational health, orthopedic/physician offices, military, law enforcements and performing arts. My goal is to lead this professional organization in a manner that is creative, innovative, up to date, determined, and simply the best it can be as our profession continues to grow and expand. As Manager of Athletic Training Services for the Health First Medicine Group I work in two capacities. First I serve on the clinical side as the Athletic Trainer/Physician Extender for Dr. Greenspoon (28 years of orthopedic surgery), assisting Dr. Greenspoon in the orthopedic care and injury management of his patients from initial evals, post op care, rehabilitation and return to work and play status. Secondly, I serve as a project manager and business growth liaison for the Orthopedic Service Line for Health First Medical Group. My focus is to assist in developing and creating new opportunities for sports medicine outreach, orthopedic patient management and overall improvement patient satisfaction. Responsibilities- Documentation of clinical notes through Centricity (EMR)- Management and review of patient health records- Research, implement and develop patient communication efforts through interactive software programs across the orthopedic service line.- Manage patient reported outcomes- Develop and design growth opportunities for the orthopedic service line- Orthopedic Team Liaison for the Brevard County Manatees (Milwaukee Brewers Minor League Team) - Community sports medicine outreach - High School Sports Screenings, Athletic Training Services- ICD-9/ICD-10 experience- HIPAA compliance- In-office patient flow efficiencies

Providing free, on-site musculoskeletal rehabilitation to the employees of the Kennedy Space Center. Entering my 15th year of service I have treated thousands of employees with work related injuries and non-work related injuries from chronic injuries to post op rehab. During shuttle missions Erik provided pre and post launch care for our astronaut crews. He served as the Health and Safety Chair for our company's Safety program. He is very familiar with OHSA guidelines and health and safety standards for the corporate workplace. I also serve as the Internship Coordinator providing professional practice opportunities to athletic training college students.The RehabWorks program was created for NASA and contract employees to help reduce lost work time, increase productivity, control healthcare costs, and lower employees out of pocket expenses of rehabilitation. Ultimately the onsite rehabilitation program allowed Erik and staff to understand the conditions, environment and safety factors involved with the many various job tasks at KSC. Erik has treated work and non-work related patients, chronic and acute patients, and post op patients referred by area physicians. Erik is well versed in understanding work related injuries, ergonomic injuries, lifting injuries, cumulative trauma injuries and a large realm of orthopedic surgical conditions.

This committee is focused on advancing the profession of Athletic Training through the development and creation of new careers within the emerging settings. The COPA committee creates business models, valuation models, ROI guidelines, suggestions on skill advancement for specific settings, marketing and education; in regards to the value of athletic trainers in emerging settings.

Erik has been a vital part of the sports medicine program for the American LeMans racing series by providing athletic training care to drivers, crew, and officials. Erik started his motorsports career working with factory GM Corvette Racing. Erik a long with Mobile Sports Medicine Group created a sports medicine program that allowed them to provide free sports medicine care to every driver, crew member and official, covering all races around the US and Canada. Some of the top teams Erik has worked with are Factory Corvette Racing, Jaguar Racing, Muscle Milk Racing, Audi Racing and Penske Porsche Racing, Andretti Racing, Fernandez Racing, and many more.

Erik provided group and individual strength training to members of NOTU at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
