Drawing from my own experience living with epilepsy, I am deeply committed to improving the lives of others facing similar challenges, particularly in regions of Africa where access to care is limited. As the founder of CareEpilepsy, my mission is to make a meaningful impact in Ethiopia by breaking down barriers to care and raising awareness about epilepsy. My personal journey gives me a unique perspective and drives my passion to empower individuals with epilepsy to live full, dignified lives.As the CEO of CareEpilepsy, I bring together strategic vision, advocacy, and health-focused expertise, grounded in my background in Business Management and a Master’s in Public Health (MPH). My leadership is further strengthened by extensive experience in operational leadership, particularly in health system strengthening in low-income settings. I've successfully led the design of complex health programs, secured funding from institutional and philanthropic partners, and managed teams to deliver projects effectively. Additionally, I have a strong track record in financial management, grant compliance, and risk management. My passion for empowering others is evident in my work as a trainer, coach, and counselor, where I help individuals and teams reach their full potential through workshops, personalized coaching, and leadership development programs. With proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage diverse teams, I am committed to driving growth and overcoming challenges to achieve our shared goals.Care extends beyond medical treatment; it encompasses educating communities, breaking down stigmas, and empowering individuals with epilepsy. I work closely with schools, community leaders, and institutions to foster understanding and create inclusive environments. My efforts in epilepsy advocacy in Africa extend beyond awareness to building partnerships with local and international organizations, engaging with government bodies and healthcare providers, and advocating for increased funding, better diagnostics, and expanded access to treatment and medication.I have successfully guided conferences and health campaigns by leveraging creativity and strategic planning. My research on epilepsy’s impact in Africa has led to the development of evidence-based policies, guidelines, and interventions, many of which have been published in international journals.
