Although my passion has always been producing, I have purposefully worked in various capacities throughout my career. I served as stage manager for the Judge Mathis Show for over 20 years. Worked as floor director for Central City Productions for eight years, working on programs like Know Your Heritage, Bud Billiken Parade, and Act-So Awards. During a seven-year stint in corporate America, I worked as a camera operator, assistant director, and floor director for corporations such as Bank One, American Hospital Association, and McDonald’s Corporation. Fulfilling a variety of roles not only helped me appreciate the importance of every part of the production process, but as a producer, it also helped me develop a sensitivity and ability to communicate well with my production team. In my quest to develop high-level, inspirational programming—whether as senior producer or associate producer— I believe I have left my creative imprint on a wide variety of programming, including talk shows, concerts, religious programming, promotional videos, and family programming. For fifteen years, I served as Senior producer for the weekly one-hour, Apostolic Church of God, television broadcast Saving Grace Ministries, which airs on WCIU in Chicago and produced Emmy nominated Christmas and Easter specials that aired both locally in Chicago on WCIU and nationally on TVOne. The holiday specials featured a 200-voice choir, the Chicago Sinfonietta Orchestra, celebrity hosts Roland Martin, Marvin Sapp, and Sonya Blakey, and musical guests such as CeCe Winans, Heather Headley, Smokie Norful, Take 6, Byron Cage, Natalie Grant, and Tye Tribbett to name a few. My experiences have allowed me to feature and interview people of all walks of life and all levels of notability, from national leaders, to recording artists and international speakers and ministers. Some of those individuals include Quincy Jones, General Colin Powell, Eugene Robinson, Dr. Lerone Bennett Jr., Bishop Arthur M. Brazier, Bishop T.D. Jakes, Donnie McClurkin, Yolanda Adams, and Mary Mary. I am no stranger to the camera and have experienced what it’s like to be in front of it, however, my passion for anchoring the creative process that occurs behind the camera is what drives my mission as a seasoned producer: to produce excellent programming that entertains, educates, and inspires.
