If someone were asked to describe me, I have been told that the word "technical" always comes to mind. My career in this industry started when I was a teenager. I first learned about HVAC systems working for my father's company. To impress my father, I earned an Unlimited Master's Electrician credential by the age of 20 while earning my undergraduate degree. My grandfather taught me, "My word is my Bond" and was enthusiastic to see me obtain my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, which I obtained from Cornell University. Since then, I have been obtaining more certifications in an attempt to become a well rounded expert in the field of Code Compliance. My most recent certification is as Certified Floodplain Manager. My next one will be as Certified Energy Manager. Why? Because we should always be learning and knowledge is something no one can take away from you.My aspiration is to obtain my Master's Degree in Public Administration. I hope I can share that accomplishment with all of you on LinkedIn in a few years.I have left a great company for another great company that coincidentally is lead by past Bureau Veritas' leadership. So, I know that by accepting their offer to lead a new Division in Code Compliance for the SE United States, that I am in extremely good company and poised for continued success. For years, in my spare time which is usually the weekends, I teach code related classes and Green Building strategies and methodologies, LEED and Florida Green Building Coalition ratings system. I have taught for over 20 years and enjoy working with Architects, Engineers, Project Managers and executives working within our industry. I have had the privilege of working internationally with some of the leading members in the Sustainability field.To me, it has always been important to maintain a high level of proficiency in my field while also managing a team of experts in their respective disciplines.
