As the Vice President of Energy, Environment, and Smarter Buildings I lead all aspects of developing and delivering services and business offerings in the connected infrastructure and energy transition space. The nationwide portfolio of experts, services, customers, and partnerships I've developed is supported by the following responsibilities:• Leading business development resulting in a $20+M annualized book of business.• Developing and maintaining bi-directional partnerships with multiple Fortune 500 firms.• Creating tailored, leading-edge offerings in the smart building space incorporating machine learning and artificial intelligence overlays.• Developing and managing an award winning Master Systems Integration (MSI) and engineering delivery team

I act as director for connected infrastructure, energy efficiency, and sustainability services and programs. This is a full life cycle role stretching from business and partnership development to recruiting and strategic hiring, and culminating in technical delivery. Recent strategic project developments and additions in our technical consulting capability include data center efficiency master planning, edge technology, IT modernization, and renewable energy consulting.

During the last decade of consulting in the energy efficiency, energy finance, and renewable energy space, I've built a client list of federal and state agencies, D.C. based NGO's and institutional campuses, regional developers, and national building product manufacturers. My passion has been, and remains, finding innovative (and product agnostic) solutions to energy inefficiencies in the built environment, and packaging a prioritized list of remediation measures with a financed solution. In effect, a performance contracting company. Some highlights of this work included:Acted as a program manager for a team of consultants and engineers in the creation and delivery of energy consulting services including tailored energy conservation measures, energy and demand benchmarking, life cycle costing analysis, and schematic design review for Harborplace. Our executive summary detailed $6.5 million in ECM's (energy cost measures).Provided EPA Portfolio Manager benchmarking compliance and energy conservation measure prioritization and incentive analysis services for a portfolio of clients that ranges from real estate developers such as Erkiletian Development to institutional clients such as The Organization of American States.Synthesized analysis of applicable federal, state, and local financial incentives, REC markets, and accelerated depreciation rulings to deliver maximum financial benefit for client energy upgrades. Performed solar (photovoltaic and thermal) site and technical efficacy analysis for solar installers including Capital Sun Group using PVsyst, Helioscope, and NREL’s SAM, and provided alternative financing analysis including PPA’s and PACE. Provided prioritized lists of energy conservation measures through a full spectrum of client-based financial and economic analysis, including simple payback, life cycle costing, net present value, internal rate of return, and mixed internal rate of return.

Built an integrated green construction and consulting firm representing multiple market channels including building envelope systems, solar thermal design and installations, and facility energy consulting services resulting in an 822% increase in revenue to more than $2.1 million in 2015.Recruited, trained, and managed a diverse mix of full-time employees and subcontractors to execute hundreds of commercial and government contracts to the highest industry standards, achieving certified installer status for 12 national brands, as well as approved or preferred contractor status for multiple municipalities, school/university systems, state governments, and the federal government. Provided overall program and project management including direct on-site control of critical and time sensitive projects resulting in 94% on-time delivery.Provided financial management including firm-wide and project specific cash-flow analysis, obtained operations financing, and established and oversaw all performance metrics for managers, technicians, and subcontractors.

As a volunteer with NCCC, I was dispatched, along with a team of 11 others, on 6 to 10 week engagements at project sites around the western region (a grouping of 17 states). Our projects were extremely varied and wide ranging, and we had to learn quickly to serve as needed and perform the work that was asked of us.Highlights included a 6 week project with the National Sports Center for the Disabled, for whom we built a horse corral, took developmentally disabled children horseback riding and white water rafting, and performed some intense trail work at Rock Mountain National Park; separately we help set up a camp for troubled youth in Jackson Hole, worked at a Boys and Girls Club on the Wind River Indian Reservation, and built stone bridge in a state park in Arkansas.
