My past 9 years at bp have been a pleasure. I’ve had the opportunity to build one of the largest low carbon trading businesses in North America, and to watch one of the world’s most exposed carbon emitters begin its low carbon transformation. During that time, I had the pleasure to work with some fantastic people, both internally and externally. In North America, and globally. But the energy transition has accelerated, and it is time for me to shift my career path. I’m on currently on gardening leave and will resume my trade-craft and new role this summer.Zach

Reliable Renewables, LLC develops, owns, and operates biomass gasification facilities. The biogas produced (H2 and CH4) is used for biofuels, power generation, and other processes.

Traded term and prompt power, and financial gas. Primarily ERCOT, some California. Valued and executed tolls, book-purchases, plant-purchases, and other cap-x deals.

Trading manager, responsible for trading and optimization of Calpine's 6,500MW ERCOT portfolio. Later selected to lead Calpine’s joint venture with Bear Stearns. That JV morphed into trading desks at JPM and Mercuria. Managed up to 40 professionals across front, middle, and back office. Started at Calpine as a trading analyst.

Hired into the fast track program for promising engineers right out of undergrad. Modernized a 2,000MW power plant by implementing an economically driven fuel-switching program. Reduced Entergy-Louisiana natural gas consumption 1-2% by implementing best practices to quantify incremental dispatch cost for the fleet.
