1. Safety:* To ensure the SAED’s Health and Safety Policy is implementedconsistently across the organization. *To monitor, evaluate and review Health and Safety policy and practice, make recommendations and implement new policies and procedures as required. * To assist in the identification of training needs for employees and develop and deliver training as required. * To advise the facilities manager on the implications of current and emerging health, safety, including evaluating options, making recommendations and generating actions plans to ensure compliance across the organization. * To support facilities manager to maintain safe systems, providing specialist advice, coaching and practical support. * To assist facilities manager implement health and safety systems and procedures to meet specific requirements, such as accident reporting and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) in a consistent and effective manner. * To carry out audits to evaluate the effectiveness of Health and Safety systems and procedures, and identify and implement improvements. * As part of the team undertake regular testing of fire alarms, firefighting and CCTV systems and other safety & security equipment, completing the appropriate logs, and notifying the facilities manager of any issues of malfunctioning equipment. 2. Security:*Provide a professional, efficient, and approachable security service, maintaining a high level of customer service to staff and visitors at all times. *Provide support in an emergency or evacuation situation, in a calm and professional manner. Actively provide information to any emergency services when requested to do so. * Ensure the effective control and maintenance of keys and security equipment. * Conduct routine security administration including visitor passes and, permits. * Complete relevant records and log books, in a professional manner

To conduct audits at hazardous waste sites or industrial sites, and participate in hazardous waste site investigations.3. To inspect specified areas to ensure the presence of fire prevention equipment, safety equipment, and first-aid supplies.8. To investigate accidents to identify causes and to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.9. To investigate health-related complaints and inspect the facility to ensure their compliance with public health regulations.10. To investigate the adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting, and other conditions that could affect employee health, comfort, or performance.11. To maintain and update emergency response plans and procedures.
