Engalbert Awing holding a Bachelor Degree of Administrative Science (Hons), Higher National Diploma in Culinary Management and Diploma in Chef Training from MARA University of Technology and British Technology and Education Council (BTEC) United Kingdom. Formerly Head School of Culinary in Asian Tourism International College (ATIC) and certified Train the Trainer. Engalbert’s vast experience in the hospitality industry began in 2001 of which the bulk of his experience was gained when he served at Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort from 2003 until 2008, served as the Chef at various kitchen departments. The experiences gained from serving at these kitchens gave him an invaluable amount of insight into the organization and operation of the professional kitchen that includes the setup, recruitment as well as the development of working and managing policies. He was also involved in assisting the Sabah Skills and Technology Centre in developing and setting up their culinary program which includes the syllabus development, the designing and setting up of their training kitchen on-site. Engalbert has also been involved with the annual Sabah Hospitality Fiesta event since 2009 and appointed as the Head for the Competitions Sub-Committee.
