Pedestrian Detection using Machine LearningFor this internship, the technique that was used is the Haar-Cascade Classifier method which is a machine learning algorithm and is able to detect any object from an image or a video. And this method was first proposed by Paul Viola and Michael Jones in 2001 in their paper, "Rapid Object Detection using a Boosted Cascade of Simple Features".Compared to other features, the key advantage of a Haar-like feature is its speed of the calculation time. This calculation speed is gained by the use of integral images that can calculate any size of Haar-like features with constant time. In calculation, for a 2-rectangle feature, approximately 60 microprocessor instructions are required .
