Provide technology leadership to a security focused team in the Labs organization, later transitioning to become the Core Automation team.Provide technology leadership, in a consultative role, for transformation of teams using legacy (J2EE, Spring, SpringBoot) technologies to Microprofile, Reactive Java, and related technologies, including Quarkus and GraalVM.Envision and lead the development of an exemplar project and supporting libraries to demonstrate best practice and benefits of transformation from legacy J2EE or Spring technology to current standard Microprofile Java technology. Project enables inline response times below 10ms, median, for high volume B2B transportation data intake and processing that formerly required over 400ms for the same tasks. Adjunct duties included technology architecture, as well as interim (3-6 month) product manager and department director roles.Lead design and implementation of elegant technical solutions to enterprise diagnostic and secure audit needs enabling a familiar experience for engineers transparently connecting in-code events and multi-channel publication to appropriate secure diagnostic services.Lead the engineering drive to migrate systems from legacy Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) to Kubernetes (GKE and OpenShift). Advocate for Kubernetes and KNative service availability; initiate and maintain a broad conversation around systems Operation-As-Code capabilities.Lead teams of engineers in the enterprise adoption of cloud-native software engineering with multiple company-first achievements in infrastructure as code (IaaC) using Terraform, Kubernetes usage, high throughput/high efficiency Java microservices, reactive programming, stream processing, and zero-downtime system design.Support cross-functional initiatives, with technology expertise and consultation, to broaden use of enterprise real-time data distribution hubs and extend data governance capabilities to real-time data streams and services.
