The building is located in front of Millennium Park. The exterior renovation included new brick, marble, terracotta, and glass fiber reinforced concrete. The ground floor exterior was restored back to the 1920's facade including custom storefront, glass, and limestone per the Chicago Landmark requirements. The second through fourth floors were shelled and converted to an interior parking garage. The fifth floor was remodeled to community space conference rooms and exercise facilities. The 17th floor terracotta cornice was restored and the west elevation added steel balconies from the 6th to 17th floors. The penthouse restoration included new cast in place concrete balconies incorporating new and restored terracotta pilasters and columns at the 19th floor. The roof structure was upgraded to include a design build window washing system and concrete paver deck. The penthouse exterior included terracotta and 12 foot by 8 foot glass fiber reinforced concrete molded medallions to match the original 1893 building tower's 21st cornice. -
