As part of the Next Evolution of Work (NEW) transition, TD has doubled down on efforts to create enterprise-wide platforms to use the scale of the Bank to improve efficiency, move away from building one-off solutions towards a model where something is built once, used frequently across TD and evolved and improved on an ongoing basis. Leveraging agile ways of working for specific projects and pilots over the last few years, the broader enterprise transformation began in earnest in early 2021 when TD began introducing NEW processes, team designs and collaboration methods across the organization to help colleagues achieve better outcomes and meet customer needs. As part of this transition, the Software Engineering Practice was created to:- Provide a world class developer experience that automates away toil to build, deploy, and operate products end-to-end- Adopt best in class engineering practices to drive product quality, developer velocity, and engineering collaboration- Create an environment and culture that attracts, develops, and retains top quality engineering talentAs the Software and Quality Engineering Practices Owner, I’m focused on creating an environment and culture that attracts, develops, and retains top engineering talent to meet the ever-growing demands for software engineering talent throughout TD.

Control Plane is the first sky computing solution harnessing the combined power of all the clouds, giving developers unprecedented power and flexibility. Founded in 2019, the Control Plane Platform was born out of the need to deliver unbreakable, auto-scaled, low-latency microservices. It is a virtual cloud made up of the three major cloud providers, harnessing all their power at a small fraction of the cost because workloads run serverless and cluster-less. The platform’s 10x simplification and reduced time-to-market give developers all the knobs and levers needed to accomplish their production goals quickly and securely.Control Plane was in stealth mode until its product launch in February of 2022. Since then, the company has experienced exponential growth.

  • General Dynamics C4 Systems
    Software/Systems Engineer
    General Dynamics C4 Systems Oct 2008 - Jul 2013
I was a key contributor to development and integration of many aspects of the MUOS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_User_Objective_System) ground system's network management system (NMS) from all aspects (planning, development, integration, systems engineering, testing, and maintenance). I was most closely responsible for the key management system (KMS), Over the Air File Transfer (OTA-FT), Over the Air Provisioning (OTAP), Spectrum Management, Situational Awareness (SA), terminal provisioning, and group provisioning functionalities. All of these functional areas were wide reaching, distributed, and intimately tied to the user entry (UE) segment of the MUOS system, which required continual cross-collaboration and teamwork.I was heavily involved in the integration and testing of the MUOS waveform (WF1.x, WF3.x), integration of the AIM programmable cryptographic module for key management on the UE, and integration of the HMS Manpack Terminal with the MUOS ground system.I developed a Java software program to read, decode, and parse NSA AES key material from a Simple Key Loader (SKL) into a human readable plaintext format that corresponds with encrypted contents in support of MUOS site integration and acceptance testing of the worldwide ground system. I developed a Java application to capture screenshot artifacts that saved weeks of time over traditional screenshot artifact collection and analysis. I made an artifact server using MySQL, PHP, Perl, Unix, and Java to facilitate log and screenshot collection and distribution from MOUS for lab/site maintenance/support. I wrote a Java application for collecting, tracking, and reporting of AES key information assigned to provisioned MUOS subscribers. I created a suite of applications to automate an NMS operator for testing.I developed an application using C++ and Java to synchronize files and directories across a network using both one-way and two-way synchronization that operated similarly to r-sync.
