I am always interested in projects that lead to creation of 'Blue Oceans' rather than 'me too' type products that only make the ocean more red.Some examples of pioneering work in which I was involved(often way ahead of their time):1) Development of a handheld communication device with applications such as email, calendar, contacts, phone that was developed in 1994/5 - functionally similar to 'smartphones' that started appearing in 1999.2) Development of uncommitted logic (and analog) arrays that can be 'programmed' using a metal mask change to have any function possible - this was in 1977, well before the term 'Gate Array' was used.3) Developed proposal then, subsequently, architected an IC development that placed a 386 based PC on a single chip, with a complete self contained memory subsystem and operating it with just 40mW total power. This was the heart of the first RIM Blackberry devices that really pioneered the smartphone age.4) Do you have a cellphone with a sliding display that reveals a keyboard? I patented this idea in 1998!5) Developed an idea to enable handheld devices use the power of a PC/server using a secure internet connection to deliver required application data. This is now known as 'Cloud Computing'.6) Helped develop a single chip multi power supply device scalable for use in micro-servers up to high-end servers and workstation CPUs.
