As Director of Human Resources, I drive the direction of the department, leading full cycle recruitment, advancing employee performance, and formulating strategies.My focus on the continued improvement of the HR department sees me delivering extensive training in relevant laws and policy, generating and analyzing employee feedback, and liaising closely with senior management teams to deliver recommendations for innovative action plans.I contribute to organizational budgeting and forecasting, projecting future employment requirements and identifying opportunities to better utilize current resources.

I was accountable for nine Creek Nations properties, which consisted of over 1800 team members.My duties entailed the management of risk, employee relations, benefits, recruitment, compensation, and customer service programs. By delivering all corporate leadership training, I saved the company a record $100K per year.I oversaw the recruitment function, and initiated numerous internal incentives aimed at entrenching the strategic vision and at increasing staff retention.Additionally, I implemented novel processes and procedures, and aligned health and retirement plans with ERISA federal guidelines, 5500 filings and Affordable Care Act standards. I supervised a team of close to 30 specialists and boosted retention and overall customer service efforts.

In this position I served as a key member of the Executive Team and contributed to a 70% increase in annual revenue year-on-year. I created human resources and operational education guidelines from scratch, and enhanced methods to ensure compliance with Medicare/Medicaid and private provider standards.I engaged directly with the Chairman, CEO and VP of Finance in ensuring the effective rollout of policies and procedures and the delivery of training suitable for the evolving culture, and also served specialized business needs.Key successes included the transformation of an excessively reactive and task-driven site leadership team into a balanced team, better equipped to manage current and future organizational challenges.

At Ameristar Casinos and Resort I successfully launched an on-site recruitment center within the hotel complex, and slashed external costs by $9K monthly. My duties included recruitment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and risk management.Other achievements included the implementation of a property-wide talent management, training and development program for the hotel, resort and casino, which involved over 1100 employees and a human resource team of 13.
