Deputy Director Of Communications / Head Of Media Relations
I led media relations for part of the Cabinet Office charged with driving improvements in public sector commercial capability and activity. Responsibilities included establishing and managing a 24/7 reactive and proactive press office, managing pan-departmental media campaigns on efficiency, and developing strategic media and marketing campaigns to support business objectives. Successes included building strong relationships with key national and trade media and press teams across the public sector, and doubling positive media coverage year-on-year. I exceeded targets set and demonstrated how coverage led to supporting key business objectives. I also provided crisis management advice to very senior Government officials, including ministers, and additional communications direction across the full range of communications disciplines, deputising for the Director of Communications.

I led the public and community relations activity for BBC TV Licensing, including strategic development of the media relations campaign, courts relations, stakeholder communications and crisis management. Managing a team of ten external suppliers, I set and monitored measurable objectives for communications activity, and provided directional support.
