Hello there! I'm Rohan Ahmed, a Civil Engineering student at NED University of Engineering & Technology. I jumped into civil engineering not just because it sounded cool but because I love being curious and creative to build things!I believe in making a REAL impact and shaping the world. My journey involves diving into academics while wearing the hat of extra-curricular activities, leading campaigns on sustainability to building Games!I love making things both innovative and eco-friendly. My research interest lies in Sustainability, automation of infrastructure systems, and environmental conservation technologies.Currently knee-deep in my Bachelors in Civil Engineering, I'm thrilled about combining book smarts with hands-on experiences. I've tinkered with design softwares, programming, and a bunch of technical skills.Feel free to drop me a message. Excited to explore new ideas and contribute to innovative solutions in the field! 🚀

This project offered me invaluable insights into construction management, technical execution, and safety protocols.Project Overview and Key PlayersThe project involved collaboration with several key stakeholders:Architectural Firm: ARCOPMEP Contractor: SMCConsultants: PromagStructural Consultant: Mushtaq and BilalEffective coordination among these teams ensured that project milestones were met ahead of schedule.Safety ProtocolsSafety was a top priority on-site. I underwent comprehensive safety training, received PPEs, and participated in safety drills. There was a noticeable shortage of helmets, highlighting the importance of strict safety adherence.Concreting and Post-Tensioning:I learned about concrete pouring and curing processes.Post-tensioning technology was used to enhance load-bearing capacity and structural integrity, allowing for longer spans and thinner slabs.Formwork Management:"Caplock" scaffolding and "Diesel" shuttering mold removal were commonly used.Formwork was managed for three floors concurrently and dismantled within 3 to 4 weeks.Finishing:The finishing phase included installing the "Lavintina 3mm" facade, known for mitigating heat and salt concentration.A centralized HVAC system and synthetic ceramic tiles in kitchen slabs were used to enhance functionality and aesthetics.I also explored the HMR project to gain insights into coastal construction, dewatering, and piling processes. I learned about "point well tests" for gauging water levels, dewatering pump capacities, and the use of shoring piles to prevent soil collapse during excavation. Show less -

In the first few weeks, I worked hard to understand the project's details. I looked at structural drawings and framing plans, talked to experienced engineers, and visited the site with lots of questions. This time of exploring set the stage for an exciting journey ahead. 🌟Project:This project is more than just building; They use special C40 concrete for strong floors and C10 for regular screeding to make sure everything is strong and good quality. The outside walls even have double layers of concrete and therm sheets for insulation from direct sunlight.Terracota is used on outer walls and porcelain imported from UAE for inner flooring. This shows how committed the project is to doing things really well. 🏢💡Learning on the Site:Being on-site taught me a lot about how civil engineering works in the real world. I saw how they pour concrete, set up formwork, put in reinforcement, and check the quality of "everything".I also learned quantity takeoffs and estimation. Saw different surveying techniques and control point shifting. These experiences helped me connect what I learned in class to how things actually work.Placing booms and shoot and funnel system were used on site. I also saw Piling, and it's complete execution and water proofing and showing how important machines are in today's construction. 🏗️🔧This internship wasn't just about learning; it was like going on a cool journey where I explored, found out new things, and got to try out civil engineering in the real world. 🚀🔍 Show less -

Collaborating with enthusiastic students, we created a guitar that emitted melodious sounds when touched by laser beams. This project not only deepened understanding of light and sound but also fostered creativity and excitement among the students.💧 Water Recycling Initiative:Aligned with the school's commitment to environmental sustainability, I spearheaded a water recycling project to educate students about recycling's crucial role in ensuring a sustainable Earth. Through interactive workshops and practical demonstrations, we highlighted the significance of water conservation and the positive impact of recycling on our planet. This initiative not only instilled environmental responsibility but also nurtured students' creativity in finding innovative solutions to real-world challenges. Show less
