Development Engineering Technician
Current- Responsible for managing all engineering communications, drawing reviews, contract and licensing agreement preparation and executions, utility servicing invoicing and work order preparations, security deposit procurement and releases, and pre- and post-construction meetings, inspections, and sign-offs for 120+ projects in the DNV. Assigned projects include all Subdivision Projects and Minor Developments (9 residential dwellings or less) throughout the DNV, as well as 20+ Capital Works Projects and Major Developments (10 residential dwellings or more).- Maintains timely, consistent and reliable communications between Municipal and Consulting Engineers, Applicants/Developers, Planners, and DNV Upper Management. Requires delicate and thoughtful communications to ensure that applicant’s concerns are heard; but firm understanding of project requirements, DNV Bylaws, and political nuances to avoid unnecessary conflicts or escalation. - Reviews all engineering drawing submissions, professional reports, preliminary and detailed applications, sign-off letters, and substantial completion and total performance packages - ensuring conformance with District requirements, standards, bylaws, accepted design drawings, and other requirements (latecomer agreements, 3rd party utility contributions, environmental regulations, etc.)- Implemented key improvements to the DNV Subdivision Review Process, reducing the Detailed Application processing time from 6 weeks to 2 weeks.- DNV Volunteer Fire Warden, Department Contact for technical and administrative issues, Member of DNV Party Planning Committee (organizes monthly team lunches for entire Development Engineering Department), and Development Engineering Representative at weekly District-wide drainage meetings.
