Approximately 50% of my time I spend on developing the competency of our organisation in sustainability matters, for example, by organising sustainability-related webinars and creating rraining materials. The remaining 50% I spend on sustainability reporting, including assisting in our CSRD project. I have also participated in answering many of the voluntary reports and questionnaires (CDP, CSA, UN Global Compact, IntegrityNext & EcoVadis). I'm also the "handyman" of our team, so I basically complete any sustainability-related tasks, like biodiversity assessments, internal communication and benchmarking reports. Whatever someone needs, I'm ready to do it! I also spent two months in our Bulgarian office, increasing the awareness and understanding of sustainability among my colleagues there. That resulted in a new eco community at the office, so I have to say my presence was quite successful.In addition, I'm involved in the new HQ project, representing the sustainability perspective. I'm also part of the change management and communications stream of the projects, making sure that my colleagues are up to date what comes to the progress. So, my role is very versatile and that is what keeps it interesting!

Supporting Cargotec's climate programme, Mission Climate, with anything related to communications, competency building and awareness raising. Mainly my duties were to increase internal awareness of the company's climate actions and that happened through various training materials, articles and intranet posts, as well as newsletters and blog posts.I also lead our internal Community of Practice called Sustainability Tribe. I organise monthly webinars for my colleagues about topical sustainability themes and communicate through the community intranet page. I have successfully increased the number of these community members by over 100%, making Sustainability Tribe the biggest and most active community in the company,For approximately half a year, I was also supporting the Mission Climate programme in project management-related activities, mainly project planning. I gained hands-on experience in how to efficiently take the programme forward, but also in how to connect the different working streams and other stakeholders. It was very valuable, as I was able to get the big picture of such a massive programme in an international company.

I had two roles during the summer at Vitrulan: HR and international customer service. HR tasks were related to salaries and rewarding, ensuring and developing the well-being at work, internal communications, supervising the tidiness and cafeteria operations, maintaining the benefits, inspection of invoices and welcoming new employees. The summer job gave me an excellent understanding of what HR operations look like in a mid-sized local facility. It also made me understand the reality of a manufacturing company and its daily life, including the safety aspect of it.International customer service included processing orders and supervising the order-to-delivery process, creating delivery documents and invoices, credit control and updating the CRM. I was substituting for the customer service specialist during her holiday, so I was in charge of multiple customers at the time.

As a shift leader, I was ensuring that everything runs smoothly and the customers leave the store with a smile on their faces. My days varied a lot; sometimes I was responsible for the vegetable and fruit section, and sometimes I was finishing off the customer experience at the checkout. I also substituted for the department leads occasionally, meaning that I was making the orders and ensuring the outlook of the departments.This position required multitasking, and sometimes I would have really appreciated having eyes on the back of my head.

I was in charge of the vegetable and fruit section, as well as the drink section of the store. I was responsible for the orders, new products and the seasonality of the sections. The job required budgeting skills and an overall target-oriented mindset because we had weekly targets to aim for. I was able to see the changes COVID-19 caused in customer behaviour, and I learned how to react quickly to these unexpected changes. For example, people were eating more at home due to remote working, which lead to increased demand for vegetables and non-alcoholic beverages. Both of my departments had an approximately 20% sales increase during my contract, which I am really proud of.

As a part of the sales team, my position included processing the orders and the documents related to them, international customer service, credit control and updating the customer information in the internal system. I got to work with different platforms and communicate with global customers, which strengthened my communication skills in a multi-national organization.

I instructed dance and gymnastics lessons for children, mainly for small kids. I was also helping with a sports class meant for kids with special needs, which definitely taught me to be more patient. This job included lots of planning, both for short periods of time (each lesson) as well as for longer periods, like the entire season. Project management was also required because I was also planning different types of events and competitions.

During my time at Stadium, I learned a lot about retailing and especially about sales. In addition, I gained lots of valuable information about different sports products, and I now better know how to equip myself for different weather conditions. In addition to my regular duties, I also worked as a shift leader. I was also in charge of the loungewear sections for women and men for one summer. The in-store marketing at Stadium was so fascinating for me, that I ended up doing my bachelor's thesis about it, more specifically about how the company markets product sustainability to customers.

My job at K-Market Puhakka was a very typical job at a supermarket; I was doing basically everything that you can do in a store like that. Mostly it was about customer service, working at the check-out, unloading and making sure the store looked good. Puhakka was also one of the first stores in Turku to offer a home delivery service, so sometimes I was also collecting these orders.

I was working for a person with cerebral palsy. My job was to help them with all the daily tasks, including cleaning, cooking, moving from one place to another and assisting with anything that they asked me to. Sometimes the work also required assisting the person with reading through their texts, so I also developed my skills to spot any typos, or funnily structured sentences. I worked here full-time from April 2016 to September 2016, and continued as a part-time employee from that on, due to my studies.

During my time at Lahjan Tytöt, I got to instruct many different-aged children, as well as kids of different levels. I was giving classes in gymnastics and dance. The job required me to plan the classes, and also the structure of the entire season. Lahjan Tytöt was a lot about cooperation, so we were usually planning the choreography together with another instructor. In addition to instructing, I was also occasionally giving endurance training for the competing dancing teams.Lahjan Tytöt is a large club, so they organize multiple events, shows and competitions throughout the year. I was planning and organizing these events as well, so I learned a lot about project and event management. I was also part of a team which was responsible for developing the children's activities even further, so lots of time was spent in meetings and in development work.

In K-Citymarket Länsikeskus I was mostly working at the check-out and at the customer service desk. I got to handle tricky complaints and solve other problems that the customers had. Veikkaus (the Finnish lottery games) became very familiar to me since the store is one of the best ones to sell Veikkaus products in Finland. In addition to customer service, I got to spend some time on different sections at the store, mainly the cosmetics and household goods sections, but I was also helping with the renovation of the shoe section. Thanks to this job, I understand how difficult the customers can be, but also how to get them happy with small gestures like wishing them a nice weekend.
