I am a corporate practitioner whose areas of practice include corporate and securities laws, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, China, private wealth, corporate restructuring, joint ventures, corporate and commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, corporate governance advisory and corporate secretarial work. I am currently also Independent Director at 6 SGX-ST listed (1 being dual listed) companies, and Company Secretary of 2 HK mainboard listed and 3 SGX-ST listed companies.Prior to founding Chevalier Law LLC, I practised at leading joint law venture firms and leading local law firms in Singapore and worked as in-house legal counsel at several major companies listed on the main board of Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited. I was also the Representative for the Shanghai Representative Office of the joint law venture and possess a good working knowledge of foreign investment laws in China. I was also the joint Company Secretary for 3 main board listed companies and Independent Director at various SGX-ST and HKSE listed companies. I have advised listed companies, private equity funds, licensed fund managers, MNCs, Chinese conglomerates, high net worth individuals and small & medium enterprises on a wide range of capital markets and corporate transactions such as initial public offerings, pre-IPO investment, public take overs, reverse take-overs, de-listings, rights issues and placements, local and cross-border acquisitions and disposals of shares, businesses and assets, joint ventures, private equity, VCCs, family offices, MAS license applications and corporate restructuring transactions. I have also acted as counsel for clients in various cross border transactions with PRC elements, and frequently advise listed companies on their regulatory compliance and corporate governance issues. I have spoken at seminars and conferences on the topics of foreign direct investments into China, and outbound investment into Singapore by PRC corporations.
