MRB Quality engineer managing non-conforming hardware in processing work centers: Coatings, Heat Treat, Cleaning-Passivation and Verification, Engine Hydro Facility and Environmental Test Lab. • Trains technicians, leads, supervisors and new QEs in processing non-conforming materials.• Responsible for work centers KPI’s. • Works towards reducing non-conformances at the Huntsville manufacturing plant through data analysis, continuous improvements activities, engineering change requests, root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Led a team of 14 quality inspectors, 2 team leads and 1 group leader at System Interiors Automotive Alabama, Tier 1 Supplier for Mazda and Toyota. My main duties on this position were:• Lead KPI activities. Track, investigate and correct internal defects, Issue quality alerts to the plant floor. Issue and track non conformance reports to suppliers until closure, request sorting activities, temporary corrective actions and long term corrective actions from supplier.• Responsible for training over 50 team members, manufacturing and quality, prior to their activities in the production environment. Develop training material, evaluation sheets for Toyota and Mazda programs. Responsible for deploying quality reference standards on the plant floor and instructing team members, team leads and group about the latest quality requirements (transition from design to production environment).• Quality lab: Create measurement plans for the quality lab activities related to Mazda. Support GR&R activities for Toyota, participate in design reviews with customers, collect, suggest and organize improvements suggestions. Review measurement reports.• Observe and address safety issues as soon as they happen.

• Responsible for failure analysis of interior vehicle components: study and identify root cause of material failure, propose temporary and permanent countermeasures, follow adoption, check effort, perform data analysis to identify trends, assess dimensional accuracy of parts through measuring tools.• Manage and design material testing, occasionally oversee manufacturing process, and write investigation reports• Document and catalog component failure, work alongside warranty and design teams to validate new components design, and perform analysis of parts performance in prototype vehicles during the development phase.• Produce and/or evaluate possible design solutions to improve cost, quality, delivery and performance on specialized knowledge of engineering applications together with possible involvement of other functional engineers and/or customer/supplier personnel.• Compile and furnish necessary information to document the design solution required for building of parts’ components and adoption of the design with possible involvement of other functional engineers and/or customer/supplier personnel.• Provide technical design support to sales, product engineering, manufacturing, and quality organizations.• Apply knowledge of company products, policies and practices to provide economies through standardization of parts and products.

• Conducted experiment and data analysis regarding iron ore concentration through flotation. I was responsible for sample preparation, material analysis through use of Scanning Electronic Microscopy, optical microscopy, and granularity measurements, organizing, refining, and analyzing experiment data via• Mineral Liberation quantification software (MLA).

The internship at Energy R&D department consisted of:• Developing plans for materials analysis and properties evaluation.• Designing experiment to predict remaining life of turbine components.• Assisting the company to better understand the component materials used in turbine hot section.• Analyzing material characterizations and failure reports.• Producing bibliographic reviews about the remaining life of turbine hot section components (GTD-111, IN-738, IN-739, Rene-142 IN-718).• Identifying and registering materials and coatings(TBC) applied in turbine hot sections components.• Overseeing coating striping by chemical and physical means and validating procedures to check machine components clearance before and after repair.

Through the Academic Students Association of Metallurgical and Materials engineering, at Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense, I was invited to teach engineering students an introduction to Solidworks. I co-taught the class with Giulio Altoé, engineer and former classmate at university.My duties included:• Creating class instruction materials and online content.• Teaching students how to use the necessary tools to successfully design in 2D & 3D. • Covered content: sketch tools and planes, tool of extrusion, revolution, swept, boundary, lofted boss/base, swept cuts, lofted cuts and boundary cuts, hole wizard, reference geometry, fillet, linear pattern, mirror, fillet and chamfer, choosing appearance and materials.

Exchange student at the University of Alabama.For the first five months I was enrolled in the International Language Institute in an English as Second Language program.During the Spring, I was enrolled as a part-time engineering student at the University and at the Language Institute.During the summer, I assisted PhD student Bruno Vidal de Almeida (USP) with his research in refractory lining for steel manufactures while enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Alabama.During the fall, I took engineering classes at the University and joined the research group of carbon nano structures lead by PhD. Paulo Trindade. Throughout these 17 months abroad, I was sponsored by the Brazilian agency CAPES.

The first year of undergraduate research was about characterization of quartzite waste originated from mining of quartzite ornamental rock.The second year of undergraduate research was about the influence caused by addition of quartzite waste as filling material for production of red clay bricks.Co-authored two papers about this research in the International Materials Science Forum: “Influence of Quartzite Residues on the Strength of Added Red Clay Ceramics” and “Characterization of a Quartzite Residue and its Application in Red Clay Ceramics”. We also published and presented three articles in Brazilian journals and symposiums.

I worked for a small store in a mall specialized in electronics commerce in Rio de Janeiro.I daily worked in troubleshooting clients problems regarding home and small office networks and multimedia.
