Kipp Austin Connections Elementary

As a Kindergarten Teacher: I continually work with a team of founding teachers to develop, adjust, and design kindergarten curriculum, classroom management structures, and school wide policies for our growing elementary school. I complete annual home visits for incoming kindergarten students, manage and teach 44 students English Language Arts Reading and Writing, Math Curriculum, and support Second Language Learners to achieve growth in both their first and second language in preparation for 1st grade. I support and facilitate character developement and lessons inside and outside of the classroom. As Grade Level Chair: I Co-manage and facilitate weekly meetings with other KIPP teachers on classroom management, curriculum instruction, and data alignment. I work to coordinate grade level communication between Administration, Teachers, Parents and Students. I participate in, co- facilitate and encourgae student, family and teacher restorative justice circles on our campus. I advotate for and arrange family assistance, and support outside of the school day. As a Teacher Manager: I conduct weekly observations and facilitate weekly coaching meetings focused on teachers individual CLP - Continuous Learning Plan & Functional goals according to our districts Teachers Framework. As Curriculum Lead: I Coordinated and Facilitated District wide Data Days with Co- Teacher for Lower Elementary reading and math data. I wrote and re-structure Language Arts and Math curriculum for entire district for 2 years.

As Kindergarten Teacher: Facilitated and daily lessonons in an inclusion classroom with Kindergarten students. Supported Students with special needs (Kindergarten PPCD unit) within the classroom. Developed guided reading lessons as a means of intervention for struggling learners. As Prime Time After School Corrdinator: Organized, facilitated and ran a Grant Funded After School Program Daily that provided students with the opportunity to explore their creativity through enrichment classes such as dance, theatre, technology, art, athletics, gardening, boy scouts, and even photography. Developed and ran a summer camp for young girls that encourged self awareness. Managed budget for program for 3 years. Managed other teachers who lead classes in the afterschool program, and facilitated communication between students, classroom teachers, parents and administration of individual student progress.
