I am a freshman at the University of Texas at Dallas. Majoring in Finance, I'm looking to find a job in the field of underwriting post-graduation. Although I have yet to decide on a minor, I'm leaning towards economics. Since I am a freshman, first semester, I haven't had the chance to take many courses in business/finance. I am currently enrolled in Business Communication, I have taken a dual credit Statistics class my senior year of high school, and I am also taking Applied Calculus. During my senior year of high school, I started working at Gong Cha. This was my first job, so I am still currently employed part-time; I work about 20 hours a week. During my time here, I have developed memorization skills, communication skills, and being about to work under pressure. Although it might seem easy on the outside, working as a "bobarista" can get a little stressful at times, that is when it is busy. Since working here, I have learned to speak with customers, assisting them in their choices, helping them with recommendations, and handling more hostile people. Another thing is the memorization. Learning to make all the different drinks, new and old, in order to work faster.My current plan for the near future is to look for internships where I can gain experience in the field that I aim to work in after graduating. Other than communication skills, I speak two languages, English and Chinese, I am proficient in analyzing tables and graphs, as well as intermediate math skills.
