Enrica is a university-trained and registered acupuncturist and Chinese herbal medicine practitioner, with knowledge of Western medicine as well. She believes that a persons mental outlook, lifestyle and environment are intrinsically linked to their health and has a special interest in psycho-emotional conditions including stress, anxiety, depression and insomnia, which can manifest physical illness.In addition, she treats headaches and migraines, gastrointestinal, dermatological, respiratory, gynaecological and musculo-skeletal conditions, which can all have an effect on emotional and mental health.She has completed studies in Five Element Constitutional Acupuncture, which “enables a person to move back in harmony with themselves, their emotions and their lives as a whole”. In addition, she is a Registered Counsellor, which enables her to further assists people experiencing mental health challenges.Having worked previously in a corporate environment, she understands the lifestyle and stresses that it can bring, whilst volunteering at a crisis housing centre helps her to connect with people from various walks of life.Enrica maintains her mental, spiritual and physical health through pursuits such as meditation, Qi Gong and Aikido. She has been studying Aikido, a Japanese martial art, since 2004 and has been teaching this “Way of Harmony and Spirit” at Aikido Shudokan both locally and internationally and is currently a 5th degree black belt. The training allows her to continue to develop the awareness, focus, energy and grounding required to treat clients effectively with Chinese Medicine.She graduated from the five-year Bachelor of Applied Science (Chinese Medicine) and Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Biology) from RMIT University with distinction and was presented with the Vice-Chancellors List Award upon graduation for finishing in the top 2% of RMIT higher education students. She has complemented her knowledge from university with an internship at the prestigious Jiangsu Provincial Chinese Medicine Hospital in Nanjing, China.She is registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a member of Australia’s peak professional body for Chinese medicine, the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA).
