PhD in Biotechnology (Bioprocess Engineering group at Wageningen University) with a core focus in synthetic biology and metabolic engineering. My current research focus is to develop novel bioprocesses using CO2 (or derivatives) as feedstocks and new-to-industry bacteria as production platforms. Experience and areas of interest:• Strain engineering for the production of high-value chemicals (flavor and fragrances) and bulk chemicals (bioplastic precursors) following the principles of the DBTL cycle• Use of different feedstocks for bacterial growth modes, e.g. heterotrophic (sugars) and autotrophic (CO2 and derivatives) • Development of synthetic biology toolboxes for the genome editing of non-traditional bacteria (i.e. CRISPR/Cas toolkits and use of engineered microbial platforms for enzyme evolution)• Physiological characterization of engineered strains with growth-assays, and 13C-labeling• Lab-scale fermentations (from micro-titer plates to lab-scale bioreactors)• Project funding acquisition• Project management, including team lead All my publications are available at my Google Scholar profile:https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=apnOuPkAAAAJ&hl=en
