Supervise physical rack placement, wiring, labeling and inventory of the material to deploy in data center according to the standards and procedures established by MDEF (Ministerio de Defensa).Support and coordination in the installation and configuration of the hardware infrastructure, base software and communications. Involving implantation of:• Installation and operation of infrastructures in data centers.• Infrastructure management systems.• Virtualization and cloud systems (VCF).• Storage platforms.• Backup systems (CommVault)• CCN-STIC standard for accedited systems.• Security elements (firewalls, antivirus, IDS...)Support and coordination in the documentation process.Support and coordination the hardening of the infrastructure.Provide support and coordination in the maintenance tasks of the infrastructure.Keep up to date the documentation about designs, operative standards, inventories, security documentation and handbooks about the infrastructure.Work in secure environments with RN/NC/NS/UES accredited systems.

To provide IT support in IT department (SITU) to all science operations centers and science ground segments located at ESAC in a Unix/Linux/Mac/Windows environment.• Management, automation and optimization of the IT support taks as well as detecting/solving performance troubles.• Administration and operation management of the core infrastructure and servers (Netapp, grid, cloud...) based mainly on Linux/Unix (Solaris, OpenVMS, RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu and Windows) and deploying of new infrastructure/workstations.• System administrator of Unix, Linux and Windows Operating Systems: Solaris, SuSe, Ubuntu Server, Debian, Red Hat, MacOS, Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 10.• Management of internal services and tools: Helpdesk Software (Kayako), Subversion/CVS, DNS/DHCP, MySQL/Postgres databases, SAN-NAS (Netapp), Nagios, Wiki and RedHat Satellite.• Virtualization Management of servers/services with Vmware ESX.• Evaluating, categorizing, logging user’s requests, problems and pro-active follow up ensuring timely resolution.• Issuing/following up hardware and software problem reports as well as managing purchases with providers (quotations, maintenance contracts, etc.).• Reporting on operational, daily activities and procedures.

To provide support to real time applications and IT support, in close cooperation with CSG system engineers (IT team), to all science operations centers and science ground segments located at ESAC in a Unix/Linux/Windows environment.• Provide support to the science operations center of the satellite XMM-Newton: Monitoring real time applications and network connections, carrying out/updating operational procedures and reporting.• Test SOC (Science Operation Center) systems in XMM SOC (SCOS2000, ESA’s generic mission control system software).• Development and maintenance of various scripts to automate daily tasks.• System administration and first level support of scientists´ computers in Solaris, Linux, Windows and OpenVMS systems.• Administration, monitoring and daily troubleshooting of operational computers (Windows, Solaris and Linux) and communication problems (network configurations).• Management, maintenance and configuration of backups: Veritas Netbackup, Solstice backup and shell scripting.• Management, maintenance and configuration of printers and printer consumables inventory.• Issuing and following up hardware/software problem reports.• Java and perl programming.

First level IT support:• Management of domains and mail accounts on exchange 5.0 platform (Windows NT environment)• Installation, management and monitoring of the corporate antivirus system.• ASP, Vbscript and HTML programming.• Administration, maintenance and Inventory of User PCs.• Maintenance and management of hardware and software incidences, in coordination with external services providers.
