About Rick Gaston

As I wrote in the about section of my website, I don’t remember a time when I wasn’t creative. Maybe this is the way it is for most creative people. I certainly didn’t think about it. What I did have to think about was where to take that desire, how to build a future on it. This brings us to the present where I consider myself a highly creative and skilled senior creative with extensive experience in corporate identity, digital, print communications, and environmental design. I am both a team player and a proven self-starter. I have experience working in an in-house environment, design firms and as a freelance/independent contractor.Outside of work I’m passionate about running, the outdoors, good food, travel and sitcoms—usually with my wife who enjoys it as much as I do.

We are now nearing the 200 mark with a marketing team of a dozen employees.In my time in Scout, I have: designed the current website and all the subsequent design updates. I elevated and extended the brand by establishing new guidelines in the usage of the logo, expansion of the color palette and creation of a new look and feel for all marketing materials; digital ads, online banners and printed collaterals. I established the design for the company’s annual customer event—SPARK; from the logo to the yearly themed event graphics while continuing to support the smaller ongoing customer events and trade shows.
