Proposed, designed and built a solution to automatically correct and support dictation sessions, resulting in improved UX and saving the student's time; consequently bringing more value to the courses in which dictations are an essential part of the learning circle.The system is clean, fast and effectively corrects the students' transcriptions, pointing out their mistakes and highlighting the correct form of words. It was built with JavaScript and React in the form of a plug-in which was integrated with the German courses offered by smarterGerman on Teachable.As part of my portfolio of software products, I offered the installation of the system in their course free of charge, since I'm a student of German myself and now benefit from it from within the German course - no more manual and time-consuming corrections! No contract was put in place; therefore, I did it as a volunteer.

After completing my PhD in Computer Science, which focused on data mining, machine learning, user experience and visualization engineering in Health and Biology, I started building personal projects that mix data science and web-development in other fields.Among the technologies I have been using are:- D3.js- React.js- Redux / Flux- Tableau- TensorFlow, Keras- Statistical tests- UX, Visualization principles- Python, R, Javascript, Django, SQL, and more.Among projects, I analysed proteomics signatures for cancer biomarkers with machine learning, statists and visualization and built a web-based Customer Queue Management System with with React, Redux and other technologies to ship a system that works in varied devices. Clean, intuitive and fast graphic interface were priorities in the latter project, aiming to improve user experience and reduce errors and bureaucracy to the minimum.

During my master and doctorate, I worked with teams formed by professionals from different institutions and took part on workshops and conferences. The collaborations and projects I worked on gave me many skills essential for my future positions on data science. The experiences made me a fast learner, innovative and very flexible professional.♦ Effective project management and self-motivation as demonstrated by planning and completing the entire master and doctorate programs, delivering 2 thesis and 6 articles published in high-impact journals such as BMC and Nature.♦ Excellent problem-solving mindset as demonstrated by creating data analysis scripts and testing hypotheses, achieving strategic recommendations to support the decision making in high-cost large projects.♦ Communication skills proved by giving storytelling oral and poster presentations in workshops and international conferences, writing award-winning articles, reporting results, and by mentoring 1 master and 1 doctorate students, aggregating professional value and influence.♦ Extensive analytical skills and a fast learner as showed by reading articles and completing courses and specializations to learn new methods and improve the quality of analysis, maintaining the team and the solutions in accordance to trending technologies.♦ Independent and teamwork skills developed by working in a set-up of 5 cross-functional collaborations, identifying gaps and being the bridge, resulting in more confidence, a better understanding of requirements and enhancing of data quality.

During my PhD I did an internship at Dalhousie University where I worked in a new field. I focused on what I had to learn and soon I was delivering an interactive system for data analysis.♦ Strategic planner and flexible professional, transitioning to a new multi-cultural environment and adapting technical skills to solve a problem in a new field, bringing new perspectives on how to solve the existing problems.♦ Intuitive interdisciplinary personality as evidenced by interpreting new problems and proposing a solution presented in a Canadian conference and delivered as a web-system, leading to impact and influence in the community.♦ Ability to meet tight deadlines, as demonstrated by planning and developing the new 6-month project during this internship, deploying and documenting the open-source system.
