I have served on the Heartland Community Church worship team since 2014, first in student ministries, even serving on several bands for youth retreats over the years, and have continued to serve on the weekend band as a vocalist. I have done a few voice overs, helped create content for videos, and now have been given the opportunity to host weekend services.

I was elected Student Trustee in a campus-wide, student nominated election in May of 2018, and served on the Board of Trustees until May 2019. On the Board I attended monthly meetings where the college administration executed an agenda that included approving salaries of newly hired staff, paying bills, negotiating wages, approving tenure, approving and modifying the budget, and, specifically as student trustee, learning from my peers and mentors who also sat on the Board about how to efficiently facilitate a college operations. I attended the 2019 National Legislative Summit in Washington D.C. where I met with IL Senator Dick Durbin, Representative Cheri Bustos, and many others to represent Highland Community College.

After being elected to Highland’s student government first as a Senator, then later as the Student Trustee, I acted as the liaison between the Board of Trustees and the student body. I had the responsibility of advocating for the best interest of the student body, including holding forums and meetings to deter the board from a tuition increase. I also helped develop and oversee several activities for the student body, such as Finals Week De-Stressors, Guest Speakers, and Leadership Conferences

At Pierce Athletics I coached recreational tumbling and the competitive cheerleading and tumbling teams. I facilitated classes to instruct beginner through intermediate level tumblers and cheerleaders (ages 18 months to 60 years) in proper form and technique to master skills and prepare them for competition. When needed, I worked in the office, taking phone calls and managing the gym operations online.
