Mr. Braslau consults on the motion picture industry business, including foreign and domestic distribution, copyright, business and entertainment law, counseling clients, both individual and corporate in the creation and maintenance of business associations and production entities, in the negotiations to acquire and sell literary materials, the negotiating and drafting of production and distribution documents and agreements, along with the necessary financial documents involved in such transactions and the negotiating and drafting of talent agreements, both above and below-the-line. Mr. Braslau has an in-depth knowledge of international and domestic film distribution, a subject on which Mr. Braslau currently lectures on for various local and international organizations. Sam Braslau received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin in 1994 and his Juris Doctor from Southwestern University School of Law in 1998. Prior to earning his law degree Mr. Braslau worked for 15 years in the Los Angeles film industry, having worked in various capacities with such industry leaders as Edward R. Pressmen, Alexander Payne and Gary Winnick. The highlight of Mr. Braslau’s film career was as an award-winning motion picture producer, having his last film, “Don’t Call Me Frankie” selected for the 1993 Canne Film Festival’s Semaine de la Critique.
