I got selected for "Young Leaders Access Program" by Miracle Corners of the World, New York, U.S.A.MCW Global’s year-long flagship program is for participants (18 to 26), who are prepared to become leaders of positive change in their communities by giving them the tools and skills needed to transform passion into action. The program is based on 3 phases:1. Summer Retreat -The Program begins with an intensive summer retreat that facilitates leadership development, a deep understanding of global citizenship, and how to implement a project from beginning to end. The retreat is held in late July/early August in Burlington, Vermont and New York City, New York (10 days)2. Vision Planning: Project Development-Participants come to the Program with an idea of a community issue they want to address through the process of vision planning, which aims to transform passion into a tangible plan for change. (12 months)3. Alumni Mentorship and Ongoing Support -To further develop and execute their vision plans, Young Leaders are paired with alumni mentors, who guide them at the retreat toward creating an actionable plan. During the year, alumni mentors support participants by facilitating quarterly “hangouts” and ongoing remote communication. Alumni mentors undergo customized training prior to the start of the program in order to support team building and cultural competency. (12 months)

Serving as an Advocate for Global Schools, equipped with knowledge of SDGs and ESD tools to help to transform learning environments, promote the SDGs in various school settings, and mobilize young people around the SDGs. I serve as a champion of the Global Schools Program and my mission is to coordinate local efforts to empower schools and teachers to educate children on the SDGs.As part of the Global Schools Program, 450 young advocates have been selected after one month of rigorous training on key aspects of Education for Sustainable Development. These dedicated youth, representing 85 countries around the world, are responsible for localising the Global Schools resources in their communities, which will help equip educators with the relevant skills and content that they need to teach about Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in their classrooms.In specific, their role involves three distinct responsibilities:1. Local community outreach -Reaching out to schools, educators and communities/networks of educators -Present the program to educators and students (where invited)-Answer questions the different stakeholders in local communities may have about the Global Schools Program-Serve as key contact point for local communities2. Localise Global School Program Resources-Introduce teachers and educators to the Global Schools resources and network-Ensure Global Schools resources are adapted to the local context, provide feedback to the Global Schools Program coordinators about the usability of resources in their region, and identify local educational resources 3. Encourage Schools to sign the Global Schools Pledge-Serve as a focal point for interested schools and invite schools to join the Global Schools Program by signing the Global Schools Pledge and joining the Global Schools Educators’ network.4. Train teachers and educators on various models of Education for SustainableDevelopment (ESD)
