Assessing patients and aiding in the delivery of physiotherapy programmes for people with neurological conditions via telehealth group exercise and education classes

After completing my final physiotherapy placement with MS Ireland via telehealth, I returned to work with them following the completion of my degree.This role involved continued contact with my physiotherapy colleagues and programme participants to organise assessments and classes. I attended and contributed to weekly in-service training to continue my professional development. I provided a structured and directed physiotherapy programme via the online exercise and education classes, thus promoting long term physical activity adherence. In addition, I contributed to the annual programme audit and clinical report writing.

Telehealth assessments and delivery of online exercise classes to people with a variety of neurological conditions.

This role entailed working with primary school children. I was required to manage and lead groups of children in a variety of activities and games, teaching new skills whilst also making the learning engaging, enjoyable and interactive. Activities had to be tailored to different age groups. This involved a balance of fun games and drills for young children, as well as more challenging activities for older participants.

Inpatient respiratory ward and post-operative care unit. Some experience in breast clinic.

Outpatient neurological physiotherapy placement. Assisted in the delivery of exercise classes to Stroke and Parkinson’s patients.

Outpatient neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy placement. Assisted in domiciliary visits.
