• Proofread and copyedited full-length books (art/craft/writing instruction) on an as-needed basis.

Development and production editing of art instruction books, including managing authors’ submission schedules, reviewing manuscripts, resolving problems, editing text and evaluating quality of art, as well as managing freelancers and working with design, production, and marketing staff to ensure quality control from contract signing to the printer.

Managed all phases of pre-/post-production of the annual reference guide, including complete revision of content; determining new content such as articles, interviews, images and resources; managing freelancers; maintaining a weekly blog and monthly e-newsletter; duties as outlined below, under Assistant Editor title.

Assisted the editors of Poet’s Market and Photographer’s Market with all aspects of pre-production, including contacting markets annually to verify and update listings in a database, researching industry news sources for possible new markets, editing all stages of proofing galleys prior to printing, and writing/editing articles for these and various other Market Books.
