With the London Borough of Richmond and Wandsworth (Senior Policy Planner / Nov 2019 – Present):I prepared Local Plans for both boroughs which required me to work independently and as a part of a team. I produced the Green Infrastructure, Climate Change, and Sustainable Transport policies for the Local Plans as well as the site allocations. I oversaw the tendering and production of the Open Space Study, the Playing Pitch Strategy, and the Net Zero Carbon Study which will support the protection and enhancement of the borough’s green and blue infrastructure as well as set ambitious development standards for each borough. I defended the Wandsworth Local Plan at the Examination in Public, speaking as to how the evidence base should be considered sound and how it supported the policies that had been drafted. I reviewed planning applications which sought development in Metropolitan Open Land and applied a detailed assessment process to establish if it was appropriateI have organised, managed and ran public consultations both virtually and in person, answering questions from members of the public collaborating with them to improve planning policy wherever possible.I prepared a comprehensive review of the both borough’s consultation strategy securing newtechnologies to support better engagement and restructured the consultation team to better respondto representations from the public.I produced the Infrastructure Delivery Plan which catalogued all the current infrastructure projects inthe borough and analysed their progress.With Mott MacDonald (Town Planner / Oct 2018 – Nov 2019):I worked primarily on large infrastructure projects, preparing reports for train station redevelopments,water transfer station developments, and waste treatment facility enhancement.I gained access to nationally significant projects and expanded my view of regional and strategicplanning.With Clarendon Planning and Development (Planning Consultant / Mar 2016 – Sept 2018):I prepared planning applications, project managed developments, and identified potentialdevelopment areas.I oversaw public contract tendering and housing research assignments for major UK homebuilders.While primarily focused on housing development, I was afforded the opportunity to work on retail,commercial, industrial, and agricultural planning applications.I co-ordinated public consultation events and formulated consultation reports covering the attitudesand opinions of the public.I learned how to use Adobe InDesign, SketchUp, AutoCad, and Inkscape.
