Eoghan was appointed as the Director of the Irish Medtech Association in November 2023. The Irish Medtech Association is the business association within Ibec representing the medical technology sector. The Association has more than 250 members, located throughout the island of Ireland. Our broad focus is to promote and support an environment that encourages the sustainable development and profitable growth of our FDI multinational and SME member companies. The Association is led by a Board of CEOs and Chief Representatives, and we implement our strategy through a series of industry working groups and stakeholder task-forces.

Eoghan was appointed Acting Director of Technology Ireland in December 2018. Technology Ireland is the largest and most influential business organisation representing Ireland's tech sector. Eoghan’s role encompassed overall responsibility for the functioning of the Association including Board, Governing Council, organisational strategy and commercial operations.

With origins dating back to 1968, the association was formed in 2017 by the merger of ICT Ireland and the Irish Software Association.Our membership is made up of the leading Irish-owned and FDI players in the Irish technology sector. Our network is structured around a series of core working groups, member forums and networking events, all of which are the primary enablers of our strategy.By forging close working relationships with government departments, state agencies and governing bodies, Technology Ireland ensures the united voice of the Irish technology sector is clearly communicated to the relevant stakeholders and policy makers.

Eoghan was appointed Acting Director of the Ibec’s Medtech and Engineering Sectors in October 2017. Eoghan’s role encompasses responsibility for the Irish Medtech Association. He also has overall responsibility for the Plastics, Aerospace, Engineering and Forestry sectors in Ibec. A number of Government Funded Networks fall under his remit as Acting Director of Medtech & Engineering including; The Irish Medtech Association Skillnet, The Internet of Medical Things Skillnet, First Polymer Training Skillnet, Irish Medtech Association Springboard+, Ibec Manufacturing Apprenticeship programme and Ibec Polymer Technology Apprenticeship Programme.

Ibec is the national voice of business and employers and is the umbrella body for Ireland’s leading sector groups and associations. Ibec represents the interests of business in Ireland and provides a wide range of direct services to its 7,500 members, which range from the very small to the largest enterprises, employing over 70% of the private sector workforce in Ireland. Within Ibec, the Irish Software Association (ISA) provides a powerful united voice for the Software & Digital Technology sector in Ireland. Within ISA, Eoghan has responsibility for executing the sector's strategy around key industry priorities; including; Funding for Growth, Talent for Growth, Member Communications & Engagement, in addition to working closely with key stakeholders such as Enterprise Ireland, IDA, and relevant government departments.

The Irish Medical Devices Association (IMDA) is the business association within Ibec representing the medical devices and diagnostics sector. IMDA has 150 members, located throughout the island of Ireland. IMDA is a proactive membership organisation. Its broad focus is to promote and support an environment that encourages the sustainable development and profitable growth of multinational and indigenous medical device and diagnostic companies.Within IMDA, Eoghan had responsiblity for a wide variety of activities, including; Irish Medical Technology Industry Code of Ethical Business Practice, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Skills and Knowledge and the Life Sciences Skillnet. In his time with IMDA, Eoghan developed comprehensive national, European and US lobbying experience, as well as an extensive industry network at national and international level. Eoghan also sat on multiple European industry committees and working groups.

Following the successful completion of his PhD entitled "The use of Raman spectroscopy for the diagnosis of cervical cancer", Eoghan and colleagues at FOCAS, the Radiation and Environmental Science Centre, and collaborators at the Coombe Women and Infants University Hospital in Dublin, began the process of commercialising the technology with support from Enterprise Ireland, resulting in the filing of a global patent of the technology developed. In June 2011, the technology won Ireland's coveted 'One to Watch Award' as the innovation best placed for commercial success. In 2012, the technology was licensed to Raman Diagnostics, an innovative life sciences company based in Ireland.
