Doctoral Researcher

Following the successful completion of his PhD entitled "The use of Raman spectroscopy for the diagnosis of cervical cancer", Eoghan and colleagues at FOCAS, the Radiation and Environmental Science Centre, and collaborators at the Coombe Women and Infants University Hospital in Dublin, began the process of commercialising the technology with support from Enterprise Ireland, resulting in the filing of a global patent of the technology developed. In June 2011, the technology won Ireland's coveted 'One to Watch Award' as the innovation best placed for commercial success. In 2012, the technology was licensed to Raman Diagnostics, an innovative life sciences company based in Ireland.
