Working on the IFMS P2P Project Team, the purpose of this post is to lead the Sourcing workstream in the design, build, test and deployment of a SAP S/4HANA solution for the Health Services Sourcing Solution (with emphasis on operational sourcing).

The purpose of the Category Specialist, Portfolio and Category Management role is to assist in the delivery of a portfolio and category management approach in order to deliver a quality service and maximise the attainment of value for money. Each Category Specialist has been assigned responsibility for specific categories and teams in a distributed model and is required;• To develop and implement several category sourcing strategies, through the execution of standardised strategic sourcing process.• To strive for best value for money solutions, and achieve maximum cost saving potential.• To build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external.The principal duties and responsibilities of the Category Specialist is to work as a member of the Portfolio and Category Management work stream and is required to: -• Develop and proactively manage customer relationships.• Develop and proactively manage the supply base.• Build and develop market analysis skills• Develop sourcing and demand management strategies.All equipment, goods and services must be procured in accordance with the requirements of the National Financial Regulations (NFR) and HSE Procurement Policy. Laboratory equipment procurement processes must take account of the life-cycle / total cost of ownership of the equipment including initial capital purchase cost and or rental / finance cost, running costs, service and support costs and ultimate disposal costs. HSE Procurement, Portfolio & Category Management has developed comprehensive evaluation models for life-cycle / total cost of ownership of capital equipment.

Responsible for all procurement activities for WRH and surrounding hospitals.

Responsible for all purchasing and materials management activities including development of purchasing policies and procedures.Development of sourcing activities including supplier selection, relationships and maintenance.

Purchasing polymer, board, paper, components and chemicals.Production planning and cost accounting.
