DHJV were selected to complete the early works for the new ferry terminals at both Picton and Wellington, with the permanent works to follow on after. I was based on the Picton side. Activities included construction of the permanent laydown area in centre of town, installation of a temporary Mabey bridge for access from the laydown area to the port, engagement and supervision of subcontractors for site offices and enabling works.I was zone manager in the team undertaking planning and procurement for the construction of the Dublin St overbridge due to be part of the permanent works.With multiple stakeholders involved in the wider project the site team held regular meetings with all relevant parties in order to accommodate their needs throughout the planning process.

Downer engaged by Waka Kotahi NZTA to construct a new 6.8km long shared path from St Leonard's suburb to Port Chalmers in the Dunedin area. Upon completion the shared path connects up with the existing cycleway meaning Port Chalmers is connected to Dunedin Central for cyclist and pedestrian access. A suite of safety improvements were installed on State Highway 88 adjacent to the new shared path as part of the contract works.

Fulton Hogan engaged to build the P2M Cycleway from Petone to Melling adjacent to the existing rail corridor and State Highway 2. I'm leading the structures team to complete the underpass structures. This involves CFA piling, earthworks, reinforced concrete construction and a significant amount of temporary works. Work crews operating on both day and night shift to complete the works in tandem with the rail traffic schedule.

Kaikoura District, Canterbury, New Zealand

Following on from the emergency works to re-open the rail and road corridor NCTIR was responsible for upgrades to existing infrastructure to improve serviceability of the network. I was part of the team responsible for several milestone projects north of Kaikoura. These included large scale earthworks operations to rebuild and realign sections of the network on the coast further away from the major slip sites, construction of a number of safe stopping areas for road users, large diameter stormwater infrastructure, reinforced concrete construction, coastal rock armor placement, several kilometers of new fiber ducting via open trenching and large areas of chip sealed pavement construction.

Kaikoura District, Canterbury, New Zealand

On November 14th 2016 a magnitude 7.8 earthquake occurred in the Kaikoura area of the South Island of New Zealand, badly damaging the transport infrastructure in the upper South island. The NCTIR alliance was set up to repair this damage. I was part of the earthworks team responsible for the clearing of several major slips on SH1 North of Kaikoura exceeding 500,000m3 of material carted to waste and associated stabilisation works to enable the reopening of the rail and road corridors in this area. Stabilisation works included installation of large diameter stormwater infrastructure, repurposing of slip material as bulk fill using a mobile crushing plant, minor concrete structures, rock anchoring, rockfall catch fences and construction of the longest terramesh bund in the Southern hemisphere at the toe of one of the major slip sites.

Fulton Hogan were part of the SCIRT Alliance responsible for repairs to infrastructure damaged by earthquakes. I joined the team in the Lyttelton area tasked with demolition of old earthquake damaged retaining walls and building replacement structures. Walls included soil nail reinforced shotcrete with in-situ reinforced finish face, ground anchor reinforced modular block walls with reinforced concrete infill, in-situ concrete cantilever walls and precast concrete cantilever walls with in-situ footing supported by vertical ground anchors. Scope of the works also included relocation of existing services, upgrades to the existing stormwater infrastructure, landscaping and reinstatement of road surfacing.
