A specialist in the area of audit and advisory, I have been in practice since 1999, commencing my professional career with BDO Simpson Xavier. I joined Horwath Bastow Charleton Limerick (HBCL) in 2004 where I was instrumental in developing the firm’s audit function, becoming their audit director in 2010. As a founding partner of McKeogh Gallagher Ryan Accountants I established the firm in July 2012 with Mary McKeogh and Eoin Ryan with the intention of building on our experience and reputations to create a personable firm led by experts who provide clients with direct access to partners.With my team we provide audit, assurance and advisory services to a wide variety of clients of varying sizes and across numerous sectors particularly manufacturing, food and agriculture, hospitality, waste and environmental services. Recent years have called for the increased provision of insolvency-type advice as clients negotiate the difficult trading conditions of the economic downturn. I advise clients on their statutory obligations and the prospects for releasing value from their business. I also work on litigation support cases, undertaking forensic analysis to secure and trace assets, producing findings for expert opinion reports. As a senior financial expert I have provided due diligence and valuation services assessing future earning potential and placing commercial valuations on both tangible assets and sale of business opportunities. I have also undertaken a number of Independent Business Reviews as well as representing clients in negotiations to secure new financing or restructure existing arrangements.
