I worked primarily in the garden centre of woodies, here I worked with an excellent mentor. I learned extensively about the stock, both plants and compost, as well as plant supplements and treatments. I had to apply this knowledge day to day to assist customers. I was trained to use the power pallet truck to transport heavy pallets across the floor to let the shop as a whole and the garden centre run smoothly. I was also trusted to use both the tills and customer service desk processing transactions, both cash and card as well as answer phone calls while maintaining a steady pace of serving customers. Overtime, I was entrusted to lock up the shop before closing, maintaining fire safety and safe standards. I trained several staff members on different systems, such as the tills, click and collect and machines such as key cutting. This lead to me overseeing operations in the Garden centre soon into my woodies career, with ordering in stock, maintaining standards, onboarding new staff and ensuring the hardstocks were consistantly faced off to a high standard.

My internship gave me key insights into working in the pharmaceutical industry. I gained invaluable experience working cross functionally with several teams and amazing people. I got to work extensively in the manufacturing suites on a Lean 6 project, as well as being involved in several other projects across a variety of departments such as a 5S.
