Multimedia journalist with Ireland's national broadcaster, working across online and television for RTÉ Sport.I work with Sport Online, primarily writing and editing content for the sports section of the website and RTÉ News app. In 2020, I was seconded to RTÉ News for several months in the same role.My responsibilities include: writing original news and feature stories, editing and publishing stories from news wires, colleagues and other sources, writing live blogs, editing images, audio and video, managing RTÉ social media accounts.In recent years I have been our lead reporter on hurling, covering the All-Ireland championship, and in 2021 I produced, presented and edited video episodes of the RTÉ GAA podcast.I have also worked as a self-editing television sports reporter for RTÉ News (Six One etc), and as an assistant producer and broadcast sub-editor with The Sunday Game and Champions League TV programmes.

I wrote, delivered and graded a module for the MA Journalism programme at Technological University Dublin. The module was entitled 'Online journalism' but encompassed a wide range of traditional and modern aspects of journalism, including: news and feature writing, reporting, interviewing, live blogging, social media and mobile journalism.

I also worked as a freelance journalist, contributing features, sports and news stories to a variety of publications in Ireland, including national and local papers and websites.

I taught English as a foreign language in a variety of private schools in Ireland, France and Australia.I taught students from 15 to 65 years of age and all levels of general English ability from elementary to advanced.I also taught specialist exam classes in IELTS, FCE, CAE, TOEIC and TOEFL.

I worked as a consultant for GAAGO.ie, the GAA's worldwide online streaming service, which is operated in conjunction with RTÉ. I came on board during an intense period of preparation prior to the service's launch in June 2014. I was responsible for: advising on and preparing content for GAAGO.ie, setting up and trialling a weekly subscriber mailout, establishing social media accounts and advising on social media strategy.

Tutor in FETAC Video Production and Information Technology courses

I organised the PR for the 2010 National Student Smedia Awards.I was responsible for writing and distributing press releases and liasing with media outlets to ensure maximum exposure for the awards.I also drove student and college participation in the awards through regular mail outs, social media and direct contact with lecturers and societies. The Smedias had a record number of entries that year. I was successful in gaining extensive coverage for the awards and winners on national television (TV3: news and Ireland AM), national press (Irish Times, Irish Independent, Irish Examiner, Irish Daily Mirror, Irish Daily Star), local press and local radio (for various winners).

I worked as a sports reporter at The Irish Daily Star from April to September 2009. I stayed on working freelance shifts after an initial college placement, only leaving to take up my full-time position with Oxygen.I mostly covered Gaelic games and wrote match reports for a variety of Championship games that summer, including the All-Ireland SHC quarter-final between Limerick and Dublin. I interviewed stars of the GAA world such as Joe Canning, Lar Corbett and Peter Canavan.I also covered other sports, and had a bi-weekly extreme sports column and a GAA betting column.

Anna Livia FmDuring 2003/4 I worked on two separate shows on Dublin City Anna Livia FM, a community radio station broadcasting on FM 103.2. I was a contributor to the weekly “Saturday Sports Show”, reporting, offering comment and interviewing guests. I also co-presented and produced the daily show “Good Morning Dublin” once a week for four months. The show was a mix of current affairs and music, loosely based on “Morning Ireland”. We regularly interviewed high profile figures such as TDs on a variety of issues affecting Dublin.
