The purpose of the Ambassadorial Scholarships program is to further international understanding and peaceful relations among people of different races, nationalities, ethnicities, and religions while pursuing a program of study at an institution of higher education in a foreign country. While abroad, scholars serve as ambassadors of goodwill.

Common Good is an organization with the slogan, “living social justice.” The organization’s goal is to mobilize church congregations to engage in social justice initiatives within Cape Town, South Africa. I joined a passionate team to develop and sustain local NGO’s in the city while building partnerships between these NGO’s and the church community. http://commongood.org.za

AmeriCorps VISTA, Volunteers in Service to America, are placed in nonprofit organizations across the United States to provide anti-poverty initiatives, community empowerment, capacity building, as well as sustainable solutions for change. As a VISTA Leader I managed and supported various AmeriCorps members at their different site locations. I helped streamline communication between Habitat International and local affiliate sites across the country.

Laramie, Wyoming

My project was to strengthen and expand support services for sexual assault victims across the state. I provided trainings and technical assistance to local shelters and NGOs. I researched policy and provided my recommendations towards a new bill that was later transformed into state law to protect the housing rights of victims.

Cleveland, Tn

As a court advocate, I assisted victims of crime, particular domestic violence and sexual assault victims through the judicial process. I helped file affidavits and gave my recommendations to judges in order to determine the best course of treatment in addition to reparations owed to each victim. I gave trainings, hosted campaigns, and raised awareness within the community.
