Developing an AI based machine learning database application for medical diagnosis. The application consists of a fast search engine defined with over 7800 disease categories that are trained with 13.8 million medical findings (features). Features can include medical images and text using a built-in content management system. Patient symptoms and medical history (findings) are processed through the search engine providing a list of ranked categories (disease outcomes) along with explanations, significant features, and quality assurance. Findings can be created , saved, and processed individually using a findings interviewer or selected and processed in batch mode.

Senior Project Leader for Accounting Department at US Steel Coke Works Production Facility.Migrated a 24/7/365 Coke Production Recording System from VB30/DB2 to VB60/Oracle. The Coke Works IT Management Director stated that the roll-out of the new system was the smoothest he had ever seen. The credit belongs to all the people who worked on the project. The migration involved over ten separate applications supporting accounting, quality assurance, chemical test laboratory, physical test laboratory, raw material purchasing, as well as plant and corporate management. Centralized data access while replacing Q+E functions with equivalent ADO function calls. Rewrote hundreds of SQL’s embedded in code as part of migration from DB2 to Oracle. Migrated over 100 Crystal Reports 4.0/DB2 to Crystal Reports 8.5/Oracle. Provided Daily Support to Coke Production Recording System. Made various database corrections for proper accounting of coke shipped. Maintained downstream billing processes with other plants. Implement new system in parallel with old system for testing prior to deployment. Accommodated custom enhancements to old system while migrating to new. Implemented many new enhancements to Coke Production Recording System. Created first automated daily report of operations used by executive management. Trimmed 24 hours off time to generate bills of lading for railroad companies. Migrated an MSDS document imaging system from VB30/DB2/TIFF to VB60/Oracle/PDF. Migrated Coal Tracking System from VB30 16bit DB2 to VB60 32bit Oracle.

Helped deploy a VB60 project for automating processes in steel manufacture. Migrated the above two VB50 projects to VB60 and setup VSS for team use. Quickly created a prototype Y2K program to replace a legacy application.

Co-developed the first Windows version of Consult®. Rewrote an MS-DOS proprietary flat-file based version of Consult® from the ground up to Windows and SQL Server. Consult® is an outgrowth of Bayes Theorem; k-nearest neighbor rules and statistical pattern recognition. Designed the relational data model that supports a new Consult® Total Systems Architecture. Added support for mapping machine learning components with images and other document files (large text files, HTML, XHTML, and PDF), and text-to-speech capability.

Worked for On Target Mapping which was acquired by MapInfo which is now part of Pitney Bowes. Performed maintenance upgrades to their flagship product, CallingAreaInfo™. Developed the MapTel Service Dispatch System for MapTel Systems. Automated core data processes, which generate over 80% of company revenue. Gained experience-using VB50 against MapInfo Professional, MapMarker, and MapX. Developed a reusable ActiveX component encapsulating common GIS functionality using VB50, Access/DAO and MapInfo MapX. Used component for custom GIS solutions for several clients. Created first Internet mapping prototype using MapInfo’s MapXtreme with Oracle 7.2. Initiated many new procedures and practices to improve the software development process.

Created corporate directory with VB 4.0, Access 2.0 and SQL Server 6.5 for 1200+ users. Maintained a mutual fund project created with Access 2.0 and SQL Server 6.0 for the Dreyfus Corporation. Dreyfus is one of the nation’s leading mutual fund companies and a subsidiary of Mellon Bank. Created reusable VB40 collection classes for accessing the ODBC 2.5 API. Setup MS Internet Information Servers and helped create one of Mellon Bank’s first Intranets.

Created a contact management system to facilitate the transfer of technology from Federal Laboratories to U.S. businesses using VB 3.0 and Access 1.1. Provided support for over 120 users in a UNIX/NetWare/Windows/Mac environment; running TCP/IP, AppleTalk and IPX/SPX over thin net on a T-1 Line. Contributed to design of new $15M facility (Robert C.
