I started our AI Organization, starting with a small tiger team at the start of 2023 to determine our AI strategy, and then scaling it up to a larger cross-functional organization in August 2023. I acted as interim product lead for the first 8 months, partnering closely with our CPO to set & execute on our strategy, and created operating mechanics to prioritize exploration, learning, and fast delivery. I also experimented with various approaches to influence & coach the broader R&D organization to adopt AI.Some highlights include: building close relationships with some of the top AI companies & co-creating together, creating a new product line & SKU (leading product & technical), and operating across all “zoom levels” as we brought this to market.

I led the Workflow Pillar, which contained three groups focused on: enabling Asana customers to orchestrate end-to-end workflows, connect & automate with their favorite tools, and expand Asana by building on top of the Asana developer platform. I partnered closely with leadership to build and execute on our organization's technical, product, and organizational strategy, while mentoring other group tech leads and scaling technical leadership across the organization.Some highlights include: taking our automation engine from hackathon to beloved by our largest customers, spearheading & building a relationship with an iPaaS vendor to expand our integrations catalog, and overseeing Asana’s tech lead experience for nearly 5 years (including redefining our TL/EM role twice, and scaling the “group tech lead” role).

After being a tech lead and leading Asana's intern program, I decided to learn more about the people side and jump into engineering management. I managed a couple of engineers, while also continuing to be a tech lead. After just under 2 years of management, I realized that balancing both simultaneously wasn't best for myself, Asana, or my reports - so I moved back into a full-time IC role. That said, I've continued to stay close to organizational strategy through some side projects (helping rewrite our Eng Manager responsibilities and Success Guide, reshaping the Tech Lead role, building interview questions for TL/EM/PM/IC/Director roles, etc).
