My name is Ephie. I have designed innovative solutions for 26 years and counting! I currently work as Director of UX at Applied Systems, a leading all-in-one insurance software solution for millions of users and businesses around the world. My approach is user-centric. My team and I lead discovery sessions with users, showing them prototypes and designs we've created based on product priorities. Through iterations and using the principles of agile and lean, we work closely with product managers and developers to create software interactions that are useful, simple, and solve the biggest pain points. With a history as a graphic artist, web designer and professional communicator, I've always given keen attention toward usability. I started my own company in late 2005 in Vancouver, Canada, followed by a stint in the film industry, and a new company in 2011 in the USA focused on digital communications - from web development & graphics to video & multimedia. Over those years I developed websites large and small, and mobile apps.I've also taken on leadership in the world of marketing and sales. I was a product manager for a season, taking a failing product and bringing it to life to the point where it was so successful it was sold to another company. In between I tried my hand with various business partners at multiple different software endeavors, from mobile apps to online sales ventures. My role was focused primarily on UX, graphics and marketing. I love making sense of big projects. I work today in Bozeman, Montana, focused on top quality user experience design and helping companies turn the corner in having desirable, viable, feasible software solutions.

Director Of ProductGilly Jun 2019 - PresentBozeman, Montana, United StatesBrought an idea to life solving a real world need for Montana's water systems. The current permit process for building on MT waterways is done using paper, making it laborious, inaccurate, uninformed, and it doesn't lead to new insights based on historical and current work being done. The new Gilly.org software platform is designed to streamline the process, while also providing a tool for analyzing past work to make informed decisions. This has been an ongoing part-time contract role where I have overseen the entire experience design from start to finish. Currently, I am directing the design, product management, and development of the software suite with a team of thirteen people, including industry experts and technical workers. We've soft-launched the software suite in the spring of 2022, and have strategic plans to grow in the short term to all of Montana, and after that the entire country. -
