The Technical Director is responsible for laying out an executable technology roadmap for the company.He leads the development of a highly performant, resilient, reusable, secure and scalable technology stack with a service oriented architecture. He translates business needs into technical service components and identify gaps, strategic impacts, and the risk profile in any technical solution or offering. He recommends the appropriate technologies to the leadership team, while guiding teams in the rapid design, development, testing and deployment of micro services and APIs, for consumption across multiple channels and platforms.RESPONSIBILITIES- Document the current architecture, identify areas of improvement and develop and evangelize a target architecture through strong communication and change management processes- Design and own the service oriented architecture and ensure its quality, resiliency, security and alignment to the business vision- Govern the introduction of new technologies by chairing joint architecture design meetings with technical leads and acting as a product manager for core technology projects- Lead a team of highly skilled software developers to develop prototypes and set the technology direction in alignment with business needs- Help the team increase velocity by removing friction in the development process through the implementation of different tools related to the architecture- Develop robust coding and integration standards across all systems, applications, and services and ensure adherence across development teams- Develop and reinforce best practices for master data management and integration- Advise the Vice President of Engineering and the executive team on skill gaps to be filled in order to achieve business objectives and target architecture- Keep abreast of trends in software development and evangelize the company within tech communities
