My role with Haramaya University focused on lecturing, leading seminars and other forms of undergraduate teaching by developing and applying innovative and appropriate teaching techniques which create interest, understanding and enthusiasm amongst students. Key to the role was fostering creativity and discovering modern approach in research as well as in pedagogy. Some of my duties included teaching Medical Parasitology for all Departments belonging to College of Health and Medical Sciences (Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, School of Medicine, School of Pharmacy, Department of Public Health, Department of Nursing, Department of Environmental Health Sciences, Department of Midwifery (both for regular and upgrading students) and Department of Psychiatry Nursing), supervising student's Community Based Education activities such as Community Based Training Program and Team Training Program as a resident and senior supervisor respectively as well as professional practice in clinical settings (Hospitals and Health Centers), providing pre-service training for graduating students of Medical Laboratory Science before graduation, providing research advise and conducting researches granted by the University as well as providing specialist input based on professional expertise, practice and experience.
