I worked with the analytics team to produce standard customer centered analytics products and reports. We culminated our internship experience by helping to conceive and write the code for the social sentiment analysis portion of what InteQ calls their Customer Love Score. I learned a lot from this position and gained valuable experience working with SQL, Python and SAS.

I will be using both C and Mathematica to construct multi-dimensional arrays and run the automaton.- We will plot the resulting life densities using a graphics package and interpret our findings.- Our goal is to produce a publishable result in our effort to win a NSF research grant that can sponsor an undergraduate research program for future UWM mathematics students. I work on data processing and statistical analysis for a long term fMRI study at Aurora Hospital. The goal of the study is to validate that fMRI imaging accurately predicts language deficits after surgery in the treatment of epilepsy. We are using a general linear model on Talairach standardized pooled images to fit raw data. Preliminary results are showing activation where we would expect to find it. If this study is completed and the results show equivalent or better prediction ability of fMRI- as compared to the current procedure known as the WADA test- we could save Aurora Hospital a significant amount of money by eliminating the use of the WADA. I won a summer research grant through the SURF program at UW-M to be a part of the incredible interdisciplinary research that Dr. Peter Tonellato and his lab are engaged in. Dr. Tonellato is an in demand authority of informatics analysis for model and non-model biological studies. With his direction and amazing team work with my undergraduate colleague Marcus Walz; I helped build and maintain bioinformatics pipelines for University of Wisconsin Milwaukee fresh water science researchers on UW-M's Linux research computing cluster Avi. LPHIG works on a variety of projects and juggles being the core analytics team for many Public Health, Biology, and Fresh Water Science researchers. So across project team work is regular and necessary. The lab expects efficient multi-tasking and proficiency with UNIX command-line scripting. It was an incredible learning experience and helped turn my programming experience into a real, usable, and scaleable tool for analytics across different IT infrastructures. Show less

I worked with two wonderful little boys on reaching social and academic learning targets. I learned a lot about teaching and the psychology of learning from this position. It was as expected a frustrating job at times since progress can be very, very slow. But it was always worth it when the kids finally grabbed onto and understood a new concept. Overall, it was a very valuable and highly rewarding experience.
