CurrentMentored by: Christopher Price, PhD. My thesis work investigated the lubrication mechanisms underlying healthy and osteoarthritic articular cartilage function. I investigated the role of synovial fluid constituents and lubricant properties, as well as cartilage material properties on the ex vivo tribomechanical behaviors of articular cartilage. I also developed a novel technique for simultaneously investigating the interfacial dynamics of ex vivo articular cartilage during dynamic shear sliding.
