He works across the grid operations and transmission planning domains with expertise in transmission planning, grid modeling and simulation, software development and integration, and leading engineering teams.Eric leads a team of engineers which builds steady state, short circuit, geomagnetic disturbance, and operational grid models of the Texas Interconnection. The team works to solve complex engineering problems while building the grid models of the future along with new modeling tools.Eric earned a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas. Eric also serves on advisory boards for the Texas State Electrical Engineering, and Bismarck State College Electrical Transmission Systems Technology programs advising on the curriculums and workforce needs. He’s held leadership positions in IEEE and is an IEEE senior member.I’m interested in energy systems integration to better plan and optimize the nations energy system while integrating vast amounts of renewable energy, developing integrated national transmission systems, advancing grid simulation tools, plan for high impact low frequency events, and how to build high performing teams.If you want to chat, send me a LinkedIn message.

I built ERCOT's second ever set of GIC models in 2019 and reduced the model build time from 1 year to 4 months with the Planning Geomagnetic Disturbance Task Force. This was accomplished by developing an Access database to handle and manage GIC model change submissions from transmission companies. The tool stored the previous GIC model and allowed users to.
