About Equan A. Burrows

Equan Burrows strives to make an indelible impact upon the lives of all students he has been privileged to work with. Equan has given unselfishly of his time and talents, helping to mold Thousands of students into distinguished citizens of society. During his time at Tallahassee Community College, he was a prominent voice since 2011, in the Lifetime Sports Complex as well as Campus Life and even established the first multinational engagement opportunity for the Eagle Adventures program during his tenure. Equan coordinated the Fostering Achievement Fellowship (FAF) program at Tallahassee Community College (TCC). The FAF program provides financial, academic, and social support to assist college bound youth that have been touched by the foster care system pursue a college education. He also directed the Black Male Achievers program (BMA) a program designed to empower and educate its students on the importance of the successful completion of their post-secondary aspirations through the practices of academic, social and occupational excellence. He also served as Assistant Manager of the Lifetime Sports Complex, as well as a Professor of College Success. His life-changing effect, and charismatic approach to dealing with difficult problems has endeared him to scores of fellow faculty, staff and students. Equan Burrows was presented with the first ever Humanitarian Award by the Black Student Union of Tallahassee Community College. As the Director of Student Engagement and Activities at Kennedy King College Equan channeled his expertise and passion into this role with a specialized focus on engaging Chicago’s Englewood community. Equan currently serves as the Dean of Student Experience at Milwaukee Area Technical College and looks forward to supporting the 35,000 students under his purview.
