This council developed and aligned Deere’s public policy positions with overall tactical and strategic business plans for the U.S. and Canada. • Collaborated with division partners and other business subject matter experts to develop state and federal legislative advocacy and grassroots efforts on issues such as contract legislation, tax, rural broadband, farm policy, and sustainability. • Developed a new advocacy strategy for two states from the ground up. Additionally, led the creation and implementation of a new communications process for Ag & Turf Public Affairs. • Partnered with other agricultural equipment companies and associations such as the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), American Farm Bureau, state chambers of commerce and others to build coalitions and develop advocacy strategies for legislation of significance.

Responsible for the management of John Deere’s $1.5M Political Action Committee (JDPAC). • Collaborated across the corporate enterprise to develop a fundraising campaign targeted at more than 12,000 eligible employees across multiple divisions to raise funds for the JDPAC. • Teamed with the State and Federal Public Affairs teams to identify candidates and develop a strategy for disbursement of JDPAC funds. • Oversaw the selection, management and training of the JDPAC Board of Directors—an employee based board consisting of senior executives and other company managers. • Managed the hiring and training/development process of the JDPAC Administrator position.
